Allan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years construction industry experience, with responsibility & accountability for project delivery, growth/sales, customer care, operational excellence, product development, collaboration, Design, DE&I, Digital & Technology, HSE and delivery of projects for Project and Cost Management services.

What’s the proudest moment of your career?
There has been so many at different stages of my career, and as I am still on the journey in my career, I would like to be able to reflect on all of them at the end of my journey
Do you have a favourite album, book or film?
No single album, as I was exposed to a large array of good music when I was young, but I would say it has to be Michael Jackson’s 1st 3 albums. They were way ahead of their time.

What characteristics and skills do you look for in people?
I really believe everyone, can grow/develop their skillset in their careers, so I tend to look for what surrounds that skillset. Things like hunger/drive, mindset/approach towards solutions, desire for continuous learning, and key for me is having a positive attitude.
What do you enjoy most about the industry?
How we can bring our clients-built asset dreams to life. The different professions coming together, working as a team to realise/create/develop clients dreams


What’s your best career advice?
Once you know what profession you want pursue in Built Environment industry, keep learning, get mentors, and develop a team working ethos because this is the basis of how serve our clients
What are your passions outside of work?
Seeing my children grow up being able to learn from them about being their Dad, Health and fitness, reading books, and watching/following various sports

Who are your inspirations?
My Mum and late Dad.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A pilot, but shortly after that, I switched to wanting to be a Quantity Surveyor
What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
Understanding the Client exam questions/ask and being able to provide/advise the best solution

Simply, Never Give Up!

More growth, to keep learning, sharing, and this will make it a very exciting one
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
That despite the achievements, and roles I have had and yet to have, I have faced challenges and failure. This is what drives my passionate for what I do, my mindset towards a solution-based approach and my positivity
